About the event
Ever wondered why you can't find your ancestors' records online? That's because so many of those records exist outside of the world wide web. Often, though, they're right in your own backyard! We've invited representatives from eight different repositories in North Alabama and Southern Tennessee to share what secrets their archives and libraries hold. In addition, several local authors, historians, and genealogists will reveal where else you might find those elusive ancestors -- and you might be surprised to learn about these overlooked and virtually unknown opportunities! It will be a day full of fellowship, fun, and family history revelations.
Your registration fee includes a boxed sandwich/chips/cookie lunch from Jimmy John's, and snacks will be available all day. You'll also have the pleasure of meeting several representatives from local genealogical and historical organizations, and pick up some of their publications. Best of all, you'll get a bag full of goodies…
